چکیده

Graphene waste has had enormous growth due to many industrial applications. Agriculture exploits through the circular economy, and graphene is thereby investigated in this study as a soil conditioner for improving physical–hydraulic properties of soil. Experiments were performed on three differently textured soils amended with traditional conditioners (compost, biochar, zeolites) graphene. The applied at two different doses 10% 5% dry weight (d.w.) compost, zeolites, 1.0% 0.5% d.w. We compared (i) major porosity classes related water-retention characteristics (drainage, storage, residual porosity), (ii) bulk density, (iii) van Genuchten curve (WRC) characteristics. application caused largest decrease density (ρb), lowering by about 25%. In fact, ρb 0.01 g/cm3. effects more intense finer Compost biochar showed similar effects, but lower magnitude those graphene, 0.7 0.28 g/cm3, respectively. Although zeolites 0.62 they quite behavior increasing mixtures’ ρb. most pronounced clayey soil, where storage reduction >30% control. For porosity, treatments did not show statistically significant differences results that, when increased drainage there was high probability concomitant porosity. This finding indicates that use aeration conditions viable, especially fine soils.

Estimating Parameters of Van Genuchten Model for Soil Water Retention Curve by Intelligent Algorithms

An improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) was proposed and the intelligent algorithms such as IPSO, genetic algorithm (GA), and simulated annealing algorithm (SA) were introduced to determine parameters of Van Genuchten (VG) model for soil water retention curve (SWRC) of four typical agricultural soil textures (clay, clay loam, silt loam and sand loam) in China. For comparison, the SWRC in...

prediction of soil water retention curve using soil particle-size distribution

the soil water retention curve (swrc) is a basic characteristic of the determination of soil hydraulic properties, including unsaturated hydraulic conductivity. measurement of this curve is essential to research, thus scientists have focused on indirect methods such as pedotransfer functions and empirical relationships to estimate swrc easily. since there is a close relationship between swrc an...

Chemical migration during soil water retention curve evaluation.

Wetting and drying (W-D) cycles can induce important elemental migrations in soils. The main purpose of this work was to study the possible existence of soil chemical elemental migrations in samples submitted to repeated W-D cycles during evaluations of soil water retention curve (SWRC). The experimental measurements were carried out by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) for Ca(2+), Mg(2+) an...
